Is this defender really Liverpool material?
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has today confirmed he is interested in bringing Hull City defender Michael Turner to Anfield.
Turner, 25, impressed during his first season in the Premier League with some magnificent displays at the heart of the Hull defence. Some have even questioned why Turner hasn’t recieved a call-up to the national side, however that will surely come over the next few years.
Turner became a Hull City player back in 2006 when he was signed from Brentford for a few of just £350,000. Should he leave the KC Stadium to move to Liverpool, Hull are likely to recieve somewhere near the £8 million mark which would give Hull a massive 2,200% profit.
Liverpool are keen to bring another defender to Merseyside before the transfer window shuts on September 1st after Sami Hyypia left the club at the end of last season. I would love to see how Turner would cope with pressure at a massive club like Liverpool (with all due respect to Hull). He is obviously a magnificent defender and I think he definitely has the potential to play Champions League football this season.
I’m keen to hear what you have to say on the matter. Comments below please.
