The reason why Kolo Toure left Arsenal
He was bored.
That’s the opinion of Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia.
Kolo Toure recently left the Emirates to join the world’s richest club Manchester City in a £16 million deal. The Ivory Coast defender had spent eight years in North London, however Almunia believes he left because he was quite simply bored after so many years at the club.
Alumnia had this to say : “When you are a long time in a place, sometimes you need to change it. You need to change your way of life, the city where you live, the team-mates who you see every day. Maybe he was a bit bored at Arsenal. With the same people every time, in the same atmosphere. He needed a change, you could see it in his face. He was not really happy last season.”
I would 100% agree with Almunia when has says that Toure didn’t seem happy last season. He just wasn’t his usual self and maybe a change of club will do him the world of good. There is no doubt that on his day Toure is one of the best defenders in the Premier League, however last season he wasn’t very good at all so I am hoping he shows everyone how good he really is next season.
Do you agree with Almunia? Comments below please.
