Tottenham wasting their time making £21 million bid for this England midfielder
Tottenham have once again been linked with a move for Aston Villa winger Ashley Young, with a £21 million bid likely to be made in the coming days.
Young, 24, has been continuously linked with a move away from Villa Park this summer with the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Barcelona all understood to be monitoring his situation.
Villa boss Martin O’Neill has insisted on a number of occasions that Young is going nowhere, however that hasn’t stopped the persistent rumours surrounding the player’s future.
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is keen to bolster his squad before the transfer window slams shut on September 1st and Young is now believed to be his number one target. Personally, I would be surprised if Young was to make the move to White Hart Lane. At the moment, Villa and Spurs are probably on a level playing field in terms of quality so unless Spurs can offer Young a significant wage-rise then I don’t envisage a move happening.
What do you think? Where will Young be playing his football this season? Is he really worth £21 million? Comments below please.
